Rupture of an interstitial pregnancy causes damage of the highly vascularized cornual end of the uterus, resulting in severe intraabdominal haemorrhage. There is a small mortality rate with miscarriage, usually due to haemorrhage or sepsis. Specimenremoval Many laparoscopic operations are initially straightforward, such as an oophorectomy for a large ovarian cyst. In an attempt to overcome this problem, numerous additional tests of sperm function have evolved, including the study of human sperm movement characteristics, initially by time-exposure photomicrography and more recently by computer-assisted image analysis, the study of the penetration of human spermatozoa into cervical mucus and the zona-free hamster oocyte penetration test. Output power levels up to 100 W continuous can be achieved, but, with a conversion efficiency of 1% or so, nearly 10 kW of input power is needed. Various complications may occur after endovascular implantation of a stent graft, and many of these can be treated by interventionalists. Although it is reported that 30% of all women with an ectopic pregnancy present after rupture (Barnhart et al 1994), acute presentation is becoming less common. While infertility is relatively common, it is very difficult indeed to establish the relative contribution of the male partner, given the profound difficulties which exist in the accurate diagnosis of male infertility. Hysteroscopy is the gold standard technique for uterine cavity assessment, and may be necessary if diagnosis of intrauterine pathologies is in doubt. As discussed in the anatomy section above, obstruction to systemic outflow can occur at a number of different levels. A large bore drain may be required at the end of the procedure to ensure complete drainage. Since the first diagnostic use of the endoscope in the 1800s, developments in optics and related technology have revolutionized the use of the laparoscope. It was found that uterine shape changes constantly throughout childhood from a pear shape to a cylindrical shape and, finally, to the adult heart shape. As with the majority of situations, the real truth lies somewhere between the two extremes. Its production requires and reflects the interaction of the germ cell population with the Sertoli cells, and is absent in men with Sertoli cell only syndrome. Damage to the intima is believed to occur from heavy exertion, resulting in activation of the coagulation cascade. These early in-vitro experiments suggested that the hormonal background was capable of modifying the response to dopamine, since it seemed ineffective in ovariectomized animals or during oestrus or dioestrus day 1 of the oestrous cycle. Examination of other cavities was described soon afterwards (Jacobaeus 1910), with carbon dioxide used for insufflation more than a decade later (Zollikoffer 1924). Salpingostomy In general, it is difficult to assess the results of salpingostomy because a very heterogeneous group of patients is involved. Thus, the chromosomal abnormality seems to result in premature ovarian exhaustion rather than a primary failure of ovarian development. Four cases of intraepithelial neoplasia in neovaginas have been reported (Jackson 1959, Duckler 1972, Rotmensch et al 1983, Imrie et al 1986). The general principles of neonatal resuscitation and transport, such as maintenance of adequate body temperature and blood glucose levels, should be carefully adhered to .
